Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

“Of mooncakes, laterns,

customs & traditions.”

Recently, we celebrated mid-autumn festival at all 4 centres in Josiah. Mid-Autumn is an important festival to the Chinese, as it means family reunion and peace.

This mid-autumn, our precious children at Josiah went on a journey to learn more about the various Chinese traditions and customs. They learned about the history, traditional foods and activities of mid-autumn festival. They even watched a performance by the teachers about mid-autumn festival tales!

How can we celebrate mid-autumn festival without traditional costumes, mooncakes and lanterns? Our children came dressed in traditional Chinese costumes, and made their very own mooncakes and lanterns with their mommies and daddies! They even got to taste the mooncakes that they made and parade the lanterns that they designed!

We ended the celebration with many traditional games, songs and dance. It was nothing short of an amazing day full of food, fun, friends, laughter and knowledge.
