“We are one Singapore,
One nation strong and free.”
#Throwback to August when we celebrated Singapore’s 52nd birthday! Our beautiful children and teachers dressed up in Singapore’s national colours – red and white – and had a fun day as we immersed ourselves in various activities. Let’s find out what our precious little ones did in our various centres!
First stop: SUNTEC
How can we celebrate National Day without some local traditional games?
We made a skipping rope out of rubber bands and our children had lots of fun skipping and playing with the skipping rope together with their friends! We also played local favourites such as snakes & ladders, donkey, old maid, happy family, and many other card games!
We also made Singapore flag agar-agar, did art & crafts, and sang along to some national day songs.
It was a fun-filled day indeed!
Second stop: CHANGI
Together, Everyone Achieves More – that’s what makes a TEAM – togetherness! Here at Josiah Changi, we played TEAM building games, waved our flags up high, and sang along to National Day songs!
Also, we baked our very special item on our menu – red velvet waffle with white chocolate drizzle – in TEAMS! Our children had lots of fun learning to make waffles and had even more fun indulging in them – YUM!
How can we conclude the celebration without some cool TEAM shots? Our dedicated team of teachers here decorated the photo booth with handmade art & crafts. Our beautiful props were also handmade by our very creative teachers. Our children had lots of fun posing in front of the camera at the photo booth!
Third stop: APERIA
Here at Josiah Aperia, our precious little ones went on to gain a better understanding of our country, Singapore! We learned more about the Singapore flag – what the colours, crescent and stars symbolizes.
We also learned some new National Day songs, and played games with red and white toys!
Last stop: TAMPINES MART
What is a National Day celebration without singing the National Anthem and reciting the Pledge? At Josiah Tampines, we started the celebration singing the National Anthem and reciting the pledge. We also sang along to National Day songs and waved our flags up high!
We played many local childhood games such as the Eagle & Chicks game, and we even raced on rugs! I’m sure many locals would find these games familiar as they are games that are commonly played in primary schools.
Join us for some fun!
That’s all for National Day 2017. Stay tuned for more exciting celebrations!
